The Department of Soil Science is one of the major departments of the Faculty of Agriculture of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka. At present this department has seventeen affiliated faculty members who teach a wide portfolio of Soil Science courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and provide a center of expertise for numerous aspects of plant science.
In 1938, Sher-e-Bangla A.K. Fazlul Huq envisioned a new era of agricultural education to empower students with knowledge and innovation for sustainable farming. This vision gave birth to Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, a center of excellence in agricultural development.
