Sujan Kumar Sarkar has been serving as a Faculty Member in the Department of Anatomy, Histology, and Physiology (ANHP) since 2018. He received a 5 years Bachelor degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.Sc. Vet Sci. & A.H.). In 2017, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Avian Diseases from École Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort (National Veterinary School of France), conducted at SAU, Dhaka. He was recognized among top three performers in this PGD program and received an award of honor. Sarkar is a licensed veterinary practitioner under the Bangladesh Veterinary Council and has extensive clinical experience in companion animal practice, including clinical restraint, diagnosis and management of diseases along with regular surgery and treatment. His work with a wide variety of clinical cases has enhanced his practical knowledge of veterinary care. He also holds a Master’s degree in Veterinary Anatomy. His broad research interest focuses on translational approach using rodent models to improve human health. Sarkar is currently on study leave while pursuing a PhD in neuroscience. He has been investigating a rare autosomal dominant neurodegenerative disorder of human in preclinical laboratory set up.
