Professor
Md. Akhtar Hossain is a Professor of this Department. He has been working for this Department since 1st June 2006. He joined this Department in 1st June, 2006 as a lecture and he was promoted as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in 2008, 2015 and 2020 accordingly. As a Chairman he led the Department as a Chairman from 12 June 2012 to 15 June 2014 and from 16 June 2016 to 31 May, 2022. With the great effort and cooperation of the teachers, officers, and staff of the Department he is trying to develop and bring something new to the academic and research sides as well.
Mr. Akhtar Hossain has a great passion for the research on Teacher Education, English Language Teaching 9ELT) and English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Besides curricular activities he focuses on the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for his students and accordingly he always inspires his students.
He believes in "What a teacher teaches is important; but how a teacher teaches is more important".
