Dr. Fatema Begum

Dr. Fatema Begum is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-1207, Bangladesh. She obtained her Bachelor in 1997 in Agriculture from Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University and MS in Plant Pathology in 2002 from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur. She did her PhD in Plant Virology from the same university in 2014.

She teaches several courses in undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD level includes Introduction to Plant Pathology, Principles of Plant Pathology and Seed pathology, Diagnosis and Management of Field Crop diseasess and Seed Pathology, Diseases of Horticultural and Post harvest Pathology. Postgraduate courses are Plant Disease Management, Plant Virology, Plant Nematology, Mycology. She teaches Advanced Virology, Advanced Mycology, and Advanced Nematology courses in PhD program.

She has supervised around 50 (fifty) students since 2014. Her research interest are Mycology, Soil borne disease, Plant Virology, Resistance breeding, Biocontrol, Integrated disease management, Seed pathology.

She also served as a Chairman in the same department from 2020 to 2022.
