Dr. Sajeda Sultana is now an Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pathology under the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. She joined as a lecturer and opening faculty member in the Department of Pathology on 26 May 2013. Before that, She worked as a Veterinary Surgeon from the period of 17 November 2008 to 25 May 2013 under the Department of Livestock Services at the 27th BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) cadre. Now She has completed nine years of teaching experience. During her academic period, she achieved lots of experiences, mainly curriculum development for Pathology courses both for undergrad and MS levels, the development of an outcome-based syllabus for Pathology courses for the undergrad level, etc. She acted as a founder Chairman from 26 August 2015 to 31 December 2018. She has had an opportunity to work with Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations from the beginning of her job career on 02 December 2007. Recently she was involved in an active teaching-learning training program using Pedagogy skills from 2017 to now, organized by FAO. She completed a series of training courses on “Disease Control and Prevention and Pedagogic Skills” organized by Faculty, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, Tufts University, USA & FAO, Bangladesh. Now she works as a Resource person in the "Teacher training program on disease control and Pedagogic skills" in the veterinary faculty of different universities in Bangladesh funded by FAO. She is an active member of the Bangladesh Veterinary Pedagogy Forum and Bangladesh AMR Response Alliance (BARA) group. She was awarded Joyeeta (Education and Service category) from Gazipur district (Both from Upazila & District level ) in 2023 organized by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Government of Bangladesh. Research Interest: Histopathology, Molecular Pathology, Virology, Zoonotic and Emerging Diseases. Academic qualification at a glance has been presented below: She achieved a Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 1997 from Baghdi High School, Kaliganj, Gazipur and Higher Secondary Certificate in 1999 from Govt. Begum Badrunnesa Mohila Collage, Dhaka. She obtained Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 2005, MS in Pathology in 2007 and PhD in Pathology from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Bangladesh. She completed the post-graduate diploma on Avian Diseases conducted by Ecole Nationale Veterinaire of Alfort & France & Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in 2017. She completed the Pathology and Avian Diseases workshop organized by Bangladesh Agricultural University-Davis Thompson DVM Foundation in 2019. She published 19 proceedings and 15 original research articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals having impact factor or impact score. She was awarded as the best Poster Presenter in 2020 at the 26th International BSVER conference. She is an elected executive member of the Bangladesh Veterinary Association (2018-2019). Besides this, she also engaged as a general member or life member, or executive member in different social, research, and professional forums/associations.
