Assistant Professor
Department of Aquatic Environment and Resource Management
Md. Foysul Hossain is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aquatic Environment and Resource Management, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. His research addresses ecology, limnology, and fish nutrition, with emphasis on the relationship between aquatic ecosystem processes and fish growth and health.
He obtained his BS and MS in Fisheries from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (now Gazipur Agricultural University) and was awarded the Prime Minister Gold Medal in 2017. He joined SAU as a Lecturer in 2018 and served as Chairman of the Department from 2022 to 2025.
He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of South Bohemia, Czech Republic, where his work examines amino acids in pond food webs and precision feeding strategies to improve nutrient use efficiency.
He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, alongside book chapters and conference papers, on aquaculture and fish nutrition, fish population biology, aquatic ecology and water quality, seaweed-based feeds, and fisheries socio-economics, with articles in Reviews in Aquaculture, Aquacultural Engineering, and Animal Feed Science and Technology.
