Dr. Md. Elias Hossain is an Associate Professor of the Department of Agricultural Botany at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Hossain began his teaching career at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in 2013 as a Lecturer, later becoming Assistant Professor in 2015 and Associate Professor in 2022. He also served as Assistant Provost at Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall for two years. Recognized for his academic excellence, he received the Dean’s Award during his B.Sc. Ag. (Hons.) program. He earned his Ph.D. in Agricultural Water Resources and Environment from the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development in Agriculture (IEDA), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), Beijing, China, in 2022. His research interests include plant–water relations, soil fertility and plant nutrition, soil organic carbon and nitrogen dynamics, and plant responses to abiotic stresses. He has published 18 journal articles, 8 of which appear in high-impact, SCI-indexed journals.
