A special workshop titled “Ace the Interview” along with a campus recruitment program was held at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) with the aim of enhancing students’ professional skills and preparing them for their future careers. Organized by the university’s Outreach Program with the overall support of The City Bank PLC, the initiative created direct employment opportunities for successful participants.
The workshop was jointly organized by the Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Outreach Program and The City Bank PLC on Thursday (15 January) at 10:00 AM in the conference room on the fourth floor of the university’s administrative building. Following the workshop, representatives of The City Bank conducted written and viva examinations for 150 pre-registered students. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to secure employment at The City Bank in positions equivalent to the 9th grade.
The event was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Latif, as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Md. Belal Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor, delivered remarks as the Special Guest. Mohammad Mahmud Gani, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Corporate Banking at The City Bank PLC, attended as the Honorable Guest. The program was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammad Jamshed Alam, Director of the University Outreach Program.
In his presidential speech, Professor Dr. Mohammad Jamshed Alam stated,
“Our Outreach Program aims to develop students’ skills and confidence to such a level that they can prove their competence in the professional world. To me, my students are my greatest asset.”
In his speech as Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Latif thanked The City Bank authorities and said,
“The City Bank deserves appreciation for selecting our university alongside other institutions. Along with acquiring knowledge, securing a good job is extremely important for students in today’s reality.”
Relevant stakeholders expressed optimism that such workshops and campus recruitment initiatives would play a significant role in providing practical knowledge and creating employment opportunities for students.
Among the distinguished attendees were Professor Md. Zakir Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Agribusiness Management; Professor Dr. Md. Razzab Ali, Director of IQAC; Professor Dr. Naznin Sultana, Director of the Institute of Seed Technology; and Professor Dr. F. M. Aminuzzaman, Director of SAURES.
