Professor Dr. Ashrafi is an agriculturist and completed her MS in Biochemistry from SAU, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She was CSIR-TWAS fellow at CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, India from 2013 to 2018. She completed her Ph. D. in Biological Sciences (specialization in Biochemistry) in 2019. After completing her Ph.D. she joined to the Department of Biochemistry and served as the chairman from July 2020 to June 2022. Dr. Ashrafi is a research fellow of Indian National Science Academy (2022-2023). Her research interest is on phytonutrients, nutraceuticals, grain quality and processing and functional foods development. She has several projects (on-going) funded by SAURES, Government of Bangladesh and international organization. She has published several research articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
