Most. Zakiya Islam is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Chemistry at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. She previously served as a Scientific Officer at the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Hons.) from SAU with a perfect CGPA of 4.00/4.00, securing first position in the Faculty of Agriculture. She also completed her Master of Science in Agricultural Chemistry from the same university with a CGPA of 4.00/4.00. She has received several prestigious awards and scholarships, including the UGC Merit Scholarship (2020), the Dean’s Award (2019 and 2023) for academic excellence across Levels 1 to 4 at SAU, the National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship from the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Nagao Natural Environment Foundation (NEF) Scholarship, Japan. She was also nominated for the Prime Minister Gold Medal (2019) for achieving first position among graduates in the Faculty of Agriculture at the undergraduate level.
